National-Level Mango Festival to Showcase Agriculture, Research, Cuisine, Art, Literature and Cultural Activities
ITM University Gwalior is set to host the third edition of 'Aamotsav-3', a two-day festival dedicated to the king of fruits - mango, on July 17 and 18, 2026. Organised by the School of Agriculture, ITM University Gwalior, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture (CISH), Lucknow, Government of India, the festival will bring together scientists, academicians, researchers, students, farmers and mango lovers from across the country.
The event has been designed to celebrate the scientific, agricultural, cultural and culinary significance of mangoes through technical sessions, exhibitions, interactive discussions, storytelling, art, cuisine and cultural performances.
Academic and Technical Sessions on Day One
Aamotsav-3 will commence at 11:00 a.m. on July 17 at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Auditorium, Vikram Sarabhai Block, ITM University Gwalior.
The first day will focus on academic and technical sessions dedicated to mango cultivation, horticulture, research, production technologies and emerging opportunities in the sector.
Dr. T. Damodaran, Director, Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, will attend as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Sanjay Pathak, Former Dean, College of Horticulture, Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya, will be the Guest of Honour.
Special lectures will be delivered by Dr. R. A. Kaushik, Director, Directorate of Extension Education, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agricultural University, Gwalior; Dr. Ashish Yadav, Senior Scientist, CISH Lucknow; and Dr. Ramkumar Dewangan, Professor, Mahatma Gandhi University of Horticulture and Forestry, Chhattisgarh.
The day will also feature an interactive question-answer session, poster-making competition, slogan-writing competition and prize distribution ceremony.
Mango Fair, Cuisine and Cultural Experiences on Day Two
On July 18, the festival will continue with a grand mango fair beginning at 11:00 a.m. The event will be inaugurated by Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi.
Visitors will witness an exhibition of over 250 varieties of Indian mangoes along with a Mango Art Exhibition from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Vikram Sarabhai Block.
A specially curated Mango Platter featuring a variety of mango-based dishes, sweets and chaat will be served at Neem Vithika, offering visitors a delightful culinary experience.
The literary session 'Kisse Aam Ke' will feature noted storyteller Junaid Faridi, who will narrate fascinating stories around the famous Rataul mango. A special session on fruit marketing will be addressed by Raj Bhatia, MLA, Delhi, and Former Chairman, Azadpur Fruit Market, Delhi.
The festival will also include painting demonstrations by renowned artists, street plays, poetry, music, film screenings, interactive knowledge sessions and recreational activities, creating an engaging experience for visitors of all age groups.
