About Faculty Higher Secondary School, Guwahati
Faculty Higher Secondary School was founded by the late Mrs. Banti Bhuyan in 1981, driven by her vision to address the lack of quality private schools. She recognized the need for a strong educational institution, and with the support of her husband, Shri Pradip Kumar Bhuyan, a small trust was formed to help realize this vision. The school opened its doors on January 2, 1982, in a rented space in Ambari, Guwahati. While the school initially lacked infrastructure, it was filled with the spirit, enthusiasm, and commitment of Mrs. Bhuyan and a dedicated team of young teachers. The school quickly became a vibrant center of learning, offering not only academics but also a wide array of activities that embodied the core values of the institution. These activities emphasized not just intellectual growth, but also the appreciation of our rich cultural heritage, compassion, empathy for others, and basic human values. The fledgling school faced many challenges, some of which threatened its closure. However, through determination, practical solutions, and divine grace, these obstacles were overcome. Shri Pradip Kumar Bhuyan worked tirelessly, gradually developing the schools permanent campus in North Guwahati. Today, the school has grown into a respected institution, and its alumni, known as Facultians, have made their mark both in India and abroad, excelling in various fields and creating a lasting impact wherever they go.
