About NIFT Entrance Exam 2026
National Testing Agency has released the NIFT 2026 answer key on its official website. Candidates are allowed to submit their challenges against the NIFT 2026 provisional answer key. The NIFT admission process consists of two components โ the entrance exam and the NIFT situation test or interview. Shortlisted candidates from the entrance exam for B.Des will be called for the NIFT 2026 situation test. Candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling process based on the scores obtained in different stages of the exam. NTA conducted NIFT 2026 on February 8, 2026. The registration and application correction window is now closed.
Candidates who want to pursue undergraduate programmes need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. For UG programs, a pass in 10+2 examination from recognised central or state boards is required. For postgraduate programmes, candidates must hold a bachelor degree in the relevant field from a recognised university. Admissions are offered in B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech and M.F.Tech programmes across NIFT campuses in India. Final admission is based on the candidate performance in the NIFT final result.
What is the NIFT Entrance Exam?
The National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Exam is a national level entrance exam conducted annually for admission into NIFT campuses across India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency on behalf of NIFT. Through this entrance examination, candidates are admitted into programmes such as Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech), Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech), and Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M).

NIFT Entrance Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements before filling the application form. Detailed eligibility criteria for each programme are given below.
For B.Des and B.F.Tech Programme
- Age Qualification: Candidates should be less than 24 years as on August 1 of the admission year. Reserved category candidates will receive 5 years age relaxation.
- Academic Qualification: Candidates must pass 10+2 from a recognised central or state board or equivalent examination recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
For M.Des and M.F.M Programme
- Age Qualification: No age limit.
- Academic Qualification: Candidates must have completed an undergraduate degree in any stream from a recognised institute or university, or a 3 year diploma undergraduate course under NIFT or NID.
For M.F.Tech Programme
- Age Qualification: No age limit.
- Academic Qualification: Candidates must have completed B.F.Tech from NIFT or B.E or B.Tech from a recognised institute or university.
