CLAT 2024 Exam Overview:

The CLAT 2024 exam took place on December 3, witnessing the participation of more than 50,000 candidates across 139 exam centers nationwide. Initial feedback from experts and candidates suggests that the exam's difficulty level ranged from easy to moderate, hinting at the possibility of higher cut-off scores this year. For aspirants eyeing the top three National Law Universities (NLUs), securing a score of 90 and above is deemed favorable.

This year introduced a notable change in the application process, requiring eligible candidates to specify their NLU preferences. The seat allotment process will align with these preferences, enhancing the personalized nature of admissions. Additionally, the CLAT 2024 syllabus underwent revision, accompanied by a reduction in the number of questions from 150 to 120.

Understanding CLAT Exam:

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) serves as a national-level entrance exam organized by CNLUs. Recognized by 24 national law universities and over 60 affiliated colleges, CLAT scores open doors to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs. This offline, pen-and-paper format exam assesses candidates' readiness for legal education across the country.

CLAT 2024 Answer Key:

The CNLUs promptly released the CLAT 2024 answer key on December 4, accessible through the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates have until December 5 to raise objections against the provisional answer key. In cases of discrepancies, a dedicated expert committee will review objections, ensuring fairness in the evaluation process. The final CLAT 2024 answer key will be released after addressing raised objections.

Calculating Scores Using CLAT Answer Key 2024:

Applicants can calculate their scores using the official marking scheme. Correct answers earn 1 mark, while incorrect responses result in a deduction of 0.25 marks. The formula for calculating probable scores is:

CLAT Scores=Total Correct Answers×1−Total Incorrect Responses×0.25

For example, if the correct answers are 100 and incorrect answers are 40, the total marks would be calculated as:

Total CLAT Marks=(100×1)−(40×0.25)

Hence, the total marks would be 100−10=90.

Raising Objections Against CLAT 2024 Answer Key:

Candidates are given a two-day window to raise objections against the key. The objection fee is Rs. 1000 per question, refundable if objections are deemed valid. The process involves logging into the official examination portal, selecting the type of objection, specifying the question ID, adding comments, and submitting the objection.
