About B.K. Birla Public School, Thane
In 1952, at the age of 31, Late Shri Basant Kumar Birla, the youngest son of Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla, laid the foundation for his first independent venture, Century Rayon, in Shahad along Murbad Road by the Ulhas River. The Birla family has long been committed to serving the community, engaging in various initiatives in education, healthcare, philanthropy, and humanitarian work. To further these efforts around Century Rayon, the Kalyan Charitable Trust (KCT) was established in 1956, under the leadership of Late Dr. Sarala Birla. 891
