📖 About This Material

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notice regarding the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for Class 10 and Class 12 Main Examinations 2026–27. The official circular was issued on 21 September 2026.

The LOC contains important student and examination-related information that schools submit to CBSE. Students and parents should carefully verify the details recorded by the school because incorrect information can create problems later during examinations and in official documents.

What Is LOC?

LOC stands for List of Candidates. It is the list of students being submitted by affiliated schools to CBSE for the upcoming board examinations.

The LOC includes important details related to the student and examination, such as personal information and subjects registered for the board examination.

Important for Class 10 and Class 12 Students

Students should ask their school to verify the information entered in the LOC. Special attention should be given to:

Student's full name
Date of birth
Father's name
Mother's name
Subjects selected for the examination
Other demographic details
School and candidate-related information

Students should immediately inform their school if they find any incorrect information.

Why Is LOC Verification Important?

The information submitted through the examination process is used at different stages of the student's board examination journey. CBSE has also highlighted the importance of maintaining correct demographic details and providing opportunities for verification and correction at different stages.

Students should therefore not ignore any verification request received from their school.

Subject Selection Is Important

For Class 12 students, the subjects entered in the LOC are particularly important. Schools should ensure that the correct subjects are submitted for each candidate.

CBSE's LOC instructions have stated that requests to change subjects after LOC submission may not be accepted. Therefore, students should carefully check their registered subjects before the final submission.

What Should Students Do Now?
1. Check Your Details

Contact your school and verify the information being submitted in the LOC.

2. Check Your Subjects

Class 12 students should carefully confirm that all registered subjects are correct.

3. Report Any Mistake

If you find an error in your name, date of birth, subjects or other details, inform your school authorities immediately.

4. Keep Your Documents Ready

Students and parents should keep relevant school records and documents available if the school requires verification.

5. Don't Wait Until the Examination

Do not wait until the admit card or board examination to report an error. It is better to identify and report incorrect information during the verification process.

Important Notice for Parents

Parents should also participate in the verification of the student's details. CBSE has emphasised the need for schools and parents to ensure that student demographic information is correctly recorded and verified.

Parents should carefully check the information provided by the school and inform the school immediately if any correction is required.
