About Atal Medical and Research University

Atal Medical & Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, was established under The Himachal Pradesh University of Health Sciences Act, 2017, and renamed in 2019. The university is headquartered at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Mandi, Ner Chowk. AMRU affiliates all streams of medical education in the state, including Modern Medicine, Dental Sciences, Nursing, Indian Systems of Medicine, Homeopathy, and paramedical disciplines like Medical Laboratory Technology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Therapy. It oversees student registration, curriculum regulation, examinations, and awards degrees and diplomas to students, serving as the central authority for health sciences education in Himachal Pradesh.
