About Mizoram University
Mizoram University was established by an Act of Parliament in 2000 and became operational on 2nd July 2001. Located on the outskirts of Aizawl, it spans 978 acres. Initially functioning as the Mizoram Campus of North-Eastern Hill University with seven postgraduate departments, it has grown significantly in infrastructure, programs, and manpower. Accredited A grade by NAAC in 2014 and 2019, upgraded to A+ in 2025, and ISO certified in 2018, the university is consistently ranked among Indiaβs top institutions. It has secured top positions in NIRF, IIRF, and Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, recognized for excellence in teaching, research, and regional leadership in the North-East. 1602
