About Central University of Odisha
The Central University of Odisha was established under the Central Universities Act, 2009, as one of 15 new central universities created to improve access to quality higher education in underdeveloped regions. Located in Koraput District within the KBK region, the university serves areas with low graduate enrollment and predominantly tribal populations. The university aims to address educational inequity and promote academic growth among Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes. By providing instructional and research opportunities, it seeks to expand higher education access, foster intellectual and cultural development, and contribute to the social and economic progress of the KBK region and Odisha as a whole. 1604
