About Manipur University
Manipur University was established as a State University on June 5, 1980 under the Manipur University Act and became a Central University on October 13, 2005 through the Manipur University Act passed by Parliament. It has nine Schools of Studies, forty-seven departments, seven Centres of Studies, and a student strength of 7,396. The University has 119 affiliated colleges including three medical colleges and the Manipur Institute of Technology under the School of Engineering. Accredited B plus by NAAC in 2023, it promotes innovation, research, and training, contributing to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development. The campus in Canchipur, Imphal spans 287.53 acres and offers a serene environment for learning.
