About Kurukshetra University Online

Kurukshetra University, established in 1956 as a unitary residential university, was inaugurated by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Located in the historic and sacred city of Kurukshetra—the land of the Mahabharata and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita—the university sits on the western bank of the holy Brahma Sarovar. Spanning over 400 acres, it began with the Department of Sanskrit and has since expanded into a multi-faculty institution. Today, it stands as one of the region’s leading centres for advanced study, research, and higher education.
