About Sindhu Central University
Sindhu Central University (SCU), established in 2009 in the UT of Ladakh, is Indias first trans-Himalayan central university, located at 3500 meters above sea level. Named after the ancient Sindhu river, the university reflects the legacy of the Indus Valley Civilization. SCU aims to promote higher education, research, and intellectual growth across Ladakh, including Leh and Kargil, and beyond. With academic programs guided by IITs, it will offer multidisciplinary, research-based Masters programs, innovative training, and technology-enabled learning. The 110-acre campus at Khaltsi will host region-specific research centres, incubation hubs, and centres of excellence, fostering holistic education integrated with intellectual, spiritual, and personal development for students across India. 1594
