The National Medical Commission (NMC) has set specific eligibility conditions for NEET aspirants. Candidates must review these before applying:
Nationality: Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals can apply.
Academic Qualification: Must have completed or be appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Minimum Marks: 50% (General), 40% (SC/ST/OBC).
Age Limit: 17 years as of December 31, 2026.
Attempts: No limit on the number of attempts.

π Marking Scheme:
+4 for every correct answer, -1 for every incorrect answer, and 0 for unattempted questions.
The NEET syllabus includes topics from Class 11 & 12 Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (NCERT). The NMC updated the syllabus in 2023, removing some outdated topics. Students should thoroughly review the revised version before starting preparation.
The NTA releases the admit card a few days before the exam. It includes the candidateβs exam centre, timings, and important instructions. Students must carry a printed copy of the admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre.
After the exam, NTA publishes the provisional answer key, OMR sheets, and recorded responses. Students can challenge discrepancies within a given time.
The final result (scorecard and cut-off) will be released in June 2026 on the official NEET website.

After results, counselling begins for seat allocation:
15% All India Quota (AIQ) handled by MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
