About Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, commonly known as B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, was separated from Patna University on 2 January 1952. The Bihar University Act, 1960 further divided the University of Bihar into three institutions: Bihar University, Muzaffarpur; Ranchi University, Ranchi; and Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur. The Bihar University Act, 1961 later facilitated the formation of Bihar University and Magadh University. In 1973, Bihar University was again divided into Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, and Mithila University, Darbhanga. In 1990, Bihar University, Muzaffarpur underwent another division, resulting in the establishment of Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and J. P. University, Chapra. 1696
