Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, is one of Indias 54 Central Universities under the Ministry of Education. Established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 as Central University of Bihar, it was renamed in 2014. The university operates from its permanent 300-acre campus at Panchanpur, about 15 km from Gaya, guided by the motto Collective Reasoning. The campus features a grand entrance, iconic Stupa, modern administrative block, and well-designed academic buildings such as Aryabhatta Bhawan, Chanakya Bhawan, Malaviya Bhawan, and Vivekanand Lecture Complex. With world-class faculty, CBCS-based programs, strong research environment, modern infrastructure, and holistic student support, CUSB offers an enriching educational experience. The university began its academic journey in 2009 from a rented BIT Patna campus with its first MA in Development Studies program.
