About Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University
The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) was established on 14 June 2010 under Ordinance No. 44/2010, later replaced by Act 3/2011 of the Government of Kerala. The University is the result of continuous effort and the long-standing aspirations of many individuals who initiated this mission in the mid-1990s. Its formation reflects the recognized need to strengthen the animal production sector and expand academic opportunities, applied research, and entrepreneurship in animal health, production, and related fields. KVASU is a publicly funded university with its headquarters at Pookode, Wayanad. The authority and governance of the University rest with its key bodies — the Management Council and the Board of Management. 1705
