About Sree Narayana Guru Open University

Sreenarayanaguru Open University, Kerala’s State Open University for blended education, was established in September 2020 through Ordinance No. 45 of 2020 as the 15th university in the state. Dedicated by Hon. Chief Minister Sri Pinarayi Vijayan on 2 October 2020, the University aims to provide quality, inclusive education to all, regardless of age, gender, creed, or religion. It received UGC recognition under Sections 2(f) and 22, and the Sreenarayanaguru Open University Act (Act 1 of 2021) was enacted in January 2021. The Hon. Governor of Kerala, Sri Arif Mohammad Khan, serves as Chancellor. Dr. P. M. Mubarak Pasha became the first Vice-Chancellor, with Dr. S. V. Sudheer as the first Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
