The University of Delhi is one of Indias most prestigious institutions, known for its rich legacy, academic excellence, diverse programmes, and renowned faculty. Established in 1922 by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly, it has grown from just three colleges and 750 students to one of the country’s largest universities, with 16 faculties, over 80 departments, numerous colleges, and more than seven lakh students. Its motto, Nishtha Dhriti Satyam, reflects dedication, steadfastness, and truth. With strong focus on teaching, research, and social outreach, the University continues to serve as a national role model. Many of its 500+ programmes hold or are under review for NAAC accreditation, ensuring high academic standards.
