The new TIFR logo is a minimalist, modern design open to multiple interpretations. It features three tapering bands curving clockwise around a solid circle, subtly forming an implied rectangle. The rising waves can symbolize aspiration and TIFRs sea-facing campus, while the circle may represent the sun, the moon of truth, or the earth elevated by scientific progress. Mathematically, the bands touch the perfect circle tangentially and appear to converge at infinity. Scientifically, the logo can evoke wave–particle duality, quantum levels, planetary orbits, or biological forms like flagella. It may also represent TIFR’s three schools—Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Technology & Computer Science—unified as one entity.
