About Walchand College of Engineering Sangli
Walchand College of Engineering, established in 1947 as New Engineering College with a B.E. (Civil) programme, was renamed in 1955 following support from the Seth Walchand Hirachand Memorial Trust and the Government. WCE Sangli became autonomous in 2007, granting it academic and administrative independence. As per the official website, WCE Sangli's mission is to impart quality education through demanding academic programmes and enhance career opportunities for students through exposure to industry. WCE Sangli Courses are offered at the diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. WCE Sangli accepts MHT CET /JEE Main scores for admission to B.Tech programmes. Walchand College of Engineering Sangli considers GATE scores for admission to the Master of Technology (M.Tech) courses. A total of 370 students from B.Tech programmes are placed, according to the Walchand College of Engineering Sangli NIRF report 2025. The median salary offered to the UG students was Rs. 9.24 lakhs per annum during the 2023-24 WCE Sangli Placement drive. WCE Sangli scholarship schemes are designed to support academically deserving and financially challenged students pursuing technical education.
