About I.K. Gujaral Punjab Technical University
I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University was established on 16 January 1997 by an Act of the State Legislature to promote technical, management, and pharmaceutical education at degree level and above. Originally named Punjab Technical University, it was renamed in 2015 in honor of former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral. The university focuses on emerging technologies, research, and training to develop skilled manpower for the state and the country. It offers a wide range of courses through regular and distance education programs. Currently, 121 AICTE-approved and 65 UGC-affiliated institutes are associated with the university, which aims to set up centers of excellence and foster innovation and development in various academic and technical fields. 1626
