About Punjabi University
Punjabi University, Patiala, was established on 30 April 1962 by the Punjab Assembly under Punjab Act No. 35 of 1961 to preserve and promote the Punjabi language, literature, and culture. Over the years, it has grown into a multidisciplinary institution offering education and research across humanities, sciences, engineering, technology, social sciences, business, law, and arts. The university operates from a sprawling, pollution‑free campus of about 316 acres and has a wide network of affiliated and constituent colleges serving students from Punjab and beyond.
