About Yenepoya University
In 1991, the Islamic Academy of Education, a not for profit trust committed to the upliftment of minorities in general and Muslims in particular, was established by entrepreneur Mr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi as its Chairman. The trustees recognised a gap in the field of Health Professional Education and decided to start a Dental College. Within a short span of time, Yenepoya Dental College received permission in 1992 and was recognised under section 3A of the UGC Act 1956 by the Dental Council of India to educate aspiring students in the field of dentistry. Soon, with one milestone after another, the Trust launched the Yenepoya Institute of Nursing Sciences in 1994, Yenepoya Medical College in 1999, Yenepoya Nursing College in 2002, and Yenepoya Physiotherapy College in 2003. All these institutions offer Graduate, Postgraduate, PhD, and various certification programmes. 1438
