Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur is a leading institution of higher education in Uttar Pradesh, named after the great social reformer Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. Shahu Maharaj, the first Maharaja of Kolhapur, was deeply inspired by Jyotiba Phule and worked tirelessly from 1894 to 1922 to uplift marginalized communities.
